For
me, this report is breathtaking.
When I joined PHA's board of trustees in 1999,
our sense of where we were and where we could hope to go was
so very much different.
We were always planners…but we never
foresaw where our planning could take us. We have moved faster
than we ever thought possible…yet the nature of the
illness that affects our lives demands that we move faster
still.
With your help, we are prepared
for this challenge.
In another organization, I might say, we
owe so many. I think the truer words here are, PHA
is so many.
We are patients. We are parents and children.
We are siblings and friends. We are doctors, nurses, pharmacists
and other medical professionals. We are foundations, government
officials and the companies who provide treatments and services.
PHA has created a community. We are a strong community of
hope.
By bringing together all those who live with
this illness, we are leveraging our ability to move quickly
and effectively.
I contribute whatever time, talent, and treasure
I have to PHA out of love for my daughter, Emily. I contribute
because I have seen the difference this organization is making…and
I know the difference it can continue to make.
As you read these snapshots of PHA's progress
during 2004, I invite you to do the same.
With your help, in 2005, we will move faster
still!
Sincerely,
Jack Stibbs, Chair
