As Congress develops the FY 2022 federal budget, ask your members of Congress to increase funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Researchers depend on NIH grants to support their work to improve understanding and treatment of pulmonary hypertension (PH). The NIH arm that funds PH research also is responsible for studying the long-term effects of COVID-19 on lung health.
Similarly, the CDC educates health care professionals and the public about rare, chronic health conditions like PH while responding to the evolving COVID-19 crisis.
