Dear friends,
How far we’ve come since our beginnings at a kitchen table! As PHA celebrates its 30th anniversary, we are taking time to reflect on how much has taken place since 1991 when Theresa Knazik, Dorothy Olson, Pat Paton and Judy Simpson drew up plans for an organization to connect, educate and support people affected by pulmonary hypertension (PH).
We are proud to unveil an interactive timeline that provides the shared history of our organization and the PH community. Although we’ve accomplished far more than “30 Milestones in 30 Years,” the timeline highlights major achievements over our first three decades.
All of these milestones were possible because of the patient-focused vision of PHA’s founders. From the start, patients played key roles in organizing, raising money, raising awareness and advocacy.
I’m working with our very talented staff to ensure their investment in patients continues well beyond these first 30 years. As part of our 30th anniversary activities, we recently launched “Share Your Vision” to highlight the hopes and dreams of people with PH, caregivers and health care professionals.
Help us continue building our community of support by sharing a quote that represents your vision for the years ahead. What do you hope to see in the future for PH research, support and community?
We will share responses throughout the year on our website, PHA News and social media. As always, feel free to share additional feedback with me.
With gratitude and respect,
