“Thank God for the grants that help pay for specialized medication!”
“I was undiagnosed for several months. I was getting shorter of breath every day. I was almost to the point of not being able to get a breath before I saw a cardiologist who put me right in the hospital and ordered a lung examination, which determined that both my lungs were completely full of blood clots. I was told I was a miracle because most people in this condition did not live.
“Thank goodness I was put with a wonderful pulmonologist who specializes in critical care. I had a right heart catheterization and then he told me he had good news and bad news. He asked which I wanted first. I told him to give me the bad news first. He told me it was incurable. I said “ok.” Then he told me the good news: it was treatable, but with a multi-million-dollar drug. I just looked at him and said, “Well, I guess I will just die.”
He then told me there was help out there to pay for my medication. Thank God for the grants that help pay for specialized medication! I have been doing very well with the medication he put me on!”
