A: Individuals 16 years old or older may receive a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot six months after being fully vaccinated.  

Those who are 16 or 17 years old may only receive a booster shot of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine at this time. 

Adults 18 and older who received the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine may receive a booster shot of any authorized vaccine at least six months after completing the primary vaccination series. 

Adults who received the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine may receive a booster shot of any authorized vaccine if they were vaccinated two or more months ago.
