Ahead of the biennial Philadelphia Hope for a Cure Gala, community members are nominating their favorite greater Philadelphia region pulmonary hypertension physicians and allied health care professionals for special recognition at the event.

Hope for a Cure, the Philadelphia region’s marquee PHA fundraiser, is the brainchild of PHA board member Colleen Connor, who serves as host of the event.

In recent years, Hope for a Cure has attracted more than 430 attendees and raised more than $500,000. The evening includes cocktails, dinner, and silent and live auctions.

As part of the formal dinner program for the 2017 event, Hope for a Cure will recognize the unique contributions of one Greater Philadelphia region PH physician and one allied health care professional.

A selection committee of patients and caregivers will evaluate nominations and recommend winners for the health care clinician awards.

The Master of Ceremonies for this year’s formal dinner program is Chris O’Connell, news reporter and anchor for Philadelphia’s FOX 29 News.

Among the invited guests are U.S. Senator Bob Casey (PA) and his staff, who are strong advocates of the PH community and this event.

The nomination form is live, and will be open through August 18 at www.philadelphiashopeforacure.org.  To learn more, purchase gala tickets and/or to make a donation, please go to https://www.philadelphiashopeforacure.org.
