The pulmonary hypertension (PH) community joined together to celebrate PH Awareness Month, which ended last Tuesday, Nov. 30.
This year, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) encouraged the PH community to Spark Awareness about PH and its associated conditions throughout November, resulting in more than 7,000 clicks to the website and more than 37,400 comments, likes and shares on our four social media platforms.
PHA brought back its award-winning interactive PH Awareness Month calendar. Each day offered a new resource, graphic or reward to download and share. The most popular downloads were PHA’s pocket card from Day 9 of the calendar and an infographic from the PH Awareness Month toolkit that featured facts about PH and associated conditions.
Awareness Month focused on PH caused by left heart disease, the most common form of PH. PHA highlighted left heart disease with a PHA Live webinar on Nov. 16 presented by Vineet Agrawal, M.D., Ph.D. PHA also published a new free brochure, “PH & Left Heart Disease.”
PHA gained more than 200 new followers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn during PH Awareness Month. Awareness Month posts were seen more than 873,800 times.
PH Awareness Month festivities concluded Nov. 30 with Giving Tuesday. PHA raised a record $120,955 in donations thanks to the PH community and a generous $30,000 match in honor of PHA’s 30th anniversary.
Thank you for sparking PH awareness this November and throughout the year.
