On May 5, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association joined the international pulmonary hypertension community to celebrate World PH Day.

PHA’s World PH Day theme was “United for,” focused on five pivotal elements of living with PH: early diagnosis, hope, access to care, patient support and the pursuit of a cure. To raise PH awareness, PHA and other global PH organizations shared social media posts about common symptoms, facts and conditions associated with PH.

PHA members also shared stories of hope, memories of loved ones and messages of support.

Jeri Maunu Nudell shared, “Happy World PH Day as a 10-year survivor who keeps fighting and to my loving, funny, creative friend Valerie” on PHA’s Facebook post.

Yecenia Alvarado of Dallas, Texas shared, “Happy PH Day! Thankful to have a little community that gets each other.”

While many of the World PH Day 2024 festivities took place virtually, PHA hosted the first AnMed Walk for Your Health Walk in Anderson, South Carolina, on May 4.

The local PH community came together to raise awareness, connect with other patients, caregivers and health care professionals, and honor the memories of those who have passed.

First recognized in 2012, World Pulmonary Hypertension Day is a global day of PH awareness. PHA and other organizations celebrate World PH Day throughout May to raise awareness of this frequently misdiagnosed disease, advocate for access to PH treatment and care and celebrate the lives of those living with PH.
