Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is not just a disease for adults, so the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) works hard to support children with PH and their families. In 2017, PHA established a Pediatric Task Force, which surveyed 200 patients, families and providers to learn more about their needs and concerns. PHA also launched a comprehensive Pediatric Resource Center for parents and teens to locate resources tailored to their needs, including pediatric PH specialists, connections to other families and planning for school.
This important part of the PHA mission is not all fun and games, although celebrating youths with PH certainly lifts our spirits. Speaking of spirits, it is almost Halloween! We asked several of our young members to share their oversized personalities. They are all superheroes – and some even have the uniform to prove it!
