PHA’s 2019 Greater Louisville/Southern Indiana Fun Walk takes place on Saturday, Oct. 19, in Jeffersonville, Ind. Event organizers aim to raise $15,000 for the PH community.
Karen Storie, an individual with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) who walked in last year’s event, says she hopes to raise awareness through her participation.
“PAH affects so many people who are not even aware of this disease,” says Karen. “I had never heard of it and when I was diagnosed…PAH has changed my life in so many ways. I can no longer do many of the things I really loved doing; I now concentrate on the things I can do and pace myself accordingly.
“I want to help others who have this disease, so I thank you for all you are doing to help PHA advance its vision of a world without PH empowered by hope.”
This event brings together individuals with PH, health care providers, caregivers and national PHA sponsors to raise funds for PHA’s mission: to extend and improve the lives of those affected by PH. To register for the Fun Walk, visit o2breathe.org/Indiana.
