The 2019 Baltimore O2breathe Walk will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Canton Waterfront Park in Baltimore, Md. Individuals with pulmonary hypertension (PH), friends, families and health care professionals will rally together to support the PH community, with a goal of raising $12,500 for PHA support, education and research programs.

Karen Konar, one of the participants, created a new team this year, “Barbaretti Babes,” and will be walking with her best friends from college.

“We are walking in honor and memory of our beloved friend David, husband of our dear friend, Liz,” Karen shares. David passed away in 2013 after his battle with pulmonary hypertension.”

“David was a devoted husband, loving father and a wonderful friend,” she says. “He had a great sense of humor even during his illness! He left us far too soon and his family and friends miss him dearly.”

Karen says she chose to create a team to “honor David’s memory in a fun and positive way. This walk will be a way for all of our friends to get together and remember him while also raising money for the PH community.”

“We miss him so much,” Karen shares. “All of us want to honor his memory and are looking forward to getting to do so at the walk.”
