About the speakers

Mary Jo S. Farmer, MD, PhD

Mary Jo S. Farmer is the director of pulmonary hypertension services at Baystate Health in Springfield, Massachusetts. Farmer has over 20 years of experience in diagnosing and treating PH, beginning with her pulmonary and critical care fellowship training at UMASS Chan Medical School in Worcester. As an associate professor of medicine at UMASS Chan Medical School – Baystate, Farmer lectures pulmonary and critical care fellows and internal medicine residents on all topics related to pulmonary vascular disease. She currently serves as the associate editor for the pulmonary vascular disease section of CHEST’s pulmonary open access journal and on the editorial board of the education and clinical practice section of the CHEST journal.

Tonya K. Zeiger, RRT, CPFT

Tonya Zeiger is a registered respiratory therapist who has worked in the pulmonary hypertension field for almost 20 years. Zeiger previously worked in a pulmonary function lab and with lung transplantation but found her true passion in her current role as the PH clinic coordinator and associate in pulmonary medicine at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Zeiger has contributed to several publications and is an active member of PHA’s PH Professional Network.
