Roopa Siddaiah, MD, FAAP, will receive the 2023 Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) Early Career Mentored Scientist Award. Dr. Siddiah is an associate professor of pediatrics at the Penn State College of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and her fellowship in pediatrics at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York.

Dr. Siddaiah’s project, “Predictors of Pulmonary Hypertension Associated Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia,” will explore the early diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension associated with bronchopulmonary dysplasia.

This award is a new annual PHA research grant that provides bridge funding for investigators to resubmit a research proposal to the National Institutes of Health for an early career grant.
