“I thought my life was over, but through the PHA and friends and family and doctors, I found the help I needed.”

In recognition of Rare Disease Day and American Heart Month in February, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association’s (PHA’s) The Right Heart blog brings you a video featuring Quinland Folkestad. Quinland has pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) related to congenital heart disease (CHD), as well as sleep apnea.

Four and a half years ago Quinland collapsed at work and later was diagnosed with PAH and right-sided heart failure. “I thought my life was over but through the PHA and friends and family and doctors, I found the help I needed,” he said. Today, he says you can live with PH, have a good life, thrive and have hope. “There is light at the end of that long tunnel.”
