To mark Hispanic Heritage Month, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association announces the publication of “Navegando las Aguas de la Hipertensión Pulmonar: Guía para pacientes recién diagnosticados.”

The 60-page publication is designed to help people with PH, their caregivers and families learn more about types of PH, treatment and resources in the first weeks, months or years after diagnosis. The guide includes checklists, questions to ask doctors and information about support networks, clinical trials and quality of life issues.

The book includes the same valuable information as “Navigating Pulmonary Hypertension: A Guide for Newly Diagnosed Patients.” The publication can help readers understand PH, disease management, treatment options, diagnostic tests and more.

Thousands of people have downloaded the book since PHA released it in 2021.

Like Navigating PH, Navegando las Aguas de la Hipertensión Pulmonar is available in print and digital formats. Those new to PH can order free copies online in English or Spanish, by email or by calling 301-565-3004.

PHA also distributes postcards to health care providers so they can direct patients and caregivers to the book. Health care providers: Use the form at the bottom of this page to order postcards for your English- and Spanish-speaking patients.

Health care professionals who attend PHA’s PH Professional Network Symposium in person can pick up a free copy of “Navegando las Aguas de la Hipertensión Pulmonar” by visiting the PHA booth. Postcards in English and Spanish also will be available at the booth. Join us Sept. 28-30 in Arlington, Virginia, to be the first to receive this valuable new resource.
