The Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) International PH Conference and Scientific Sessions Scholarship Committee has made some key decisions regarding eligibility. PHA will award scholarships to people living with PH and their caregivers in need of financial support to attend the 2018 PHA International PH Conference and Scientific Sessions.

The following additional details follow PHA’s initial announcement about Conference Scholarships in November 2017.

  • Pediatric scholarships have the same eligibility requirements as adults, except that pediatric recipients may receive scholarships more than once
  • International scholarships go to either leaders of non-U.S. PH associations that meet all requirements except that they can receive scholarships more than once, or to non-U.S. patients/caregivers who follow the same rules as U.S. patients/caregivers (can receive scholarships only once).

PHA will begin accepting applications in January 2018. The committee strongly encourages anyone interested in scholarships to join PHA or renew their membership now because membership will be required to apply.

PHA understands the need for individuals and families to plan for Conference, especially when it comes to making travel arrangements and saving up to cover the costs of travel, registration and lodging. As such, PHA will provide updates about Conference programming, registration and scholarships as additional details available. Please continue to check the PHA website, PHANews, and your inbox for e-communications from PHA, and encourage other PH patients and caregivers you know to sign up for PHA emails here.
