The Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) is pleased to announce the launch of its new Clinical Trial Finder, now available in the research section of the PHA website, PHAssociation.org. PHA provides this tool to help participants learn more about ongoing PH research.
The tool includes filters to narrow search results to fit an individual’s personal needs. Each listing describes current research, who qualifies to participate and whom to contact for information.
The information presented on the PHA Clinical Trial Finder comes directly from ClinicalTrials.gov, a service of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). The finder provides results on active pulmonary hypertension (PH) trials and registries as well as those that are currently recruiting. Previously, trial sponsors were required to submit their clinical trial information to PHA for listing on the PHA website. This new tool provides a more comprehensive and up-to-date overview of current PH research. The search feature generates a list of relevant trials that can be filtered by location, disease type and demographic characteristics, making it easier for PH community members to find information on research most relevant to them.
This is the first release of an expanded clinical trial awareness and education resource suite, which will also include a six-part educational video series on drug development, clinical trial design and participation in research and new graphic learning tools on the drug development process.
PHA is proud to further its mission of extending and improving the lives of those with PH by providing this easy, user-friendly way to discover more information about ongoing research in the PH field. Our hope is that the information in this resource helps initiate new conversations between patients and their PH specialists about whether or not participating in research is right for them and, if so, how to get involved.
