One of the ways the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) promotes quality patient care is through free education courses for health care professionals. Recent updates to PHA Online University, a digital platform for continuing medical education, include:

  • “Methamphetamine and Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension,” presented by Anna Hemnes, M.D.
  • “Better Understanding Group 2 PH: Ipc-PH vs. Cpc-PH,” presented by Evan Brittain, M.D., M.Sc. Dr. Brittain discusses how to differentiate between two kinds of Group 2 PH: isolated postcapillary PH (Ipc-PH) and combined pre- and postcapillary PH (Cpc-PH).
  • “Pulmonary Hypertension Associated with Connective Tissue Diseases: Signs, Assessment and Treatment Strategies,” presented by Virginia Steen, M.D. The course addresses screening patients with connective tissue diseases for PH and how to treat those who develop both conditions.
