All Nationwide PHA Support Groups Now Online Online support group- 800×367 The Pulmonary Hypertension Association recently merged its telephone support groups with its nationwide support group program.Members of the pulmonary hypertension (PH) community can participate in any online meeting related to their situations, such as meetings for parents, young adults or caregivers. The nationwide groups are tailored to distinct audiences so participants can connect with others who have similar experiences or shared interests.Online groups include:
  • Patients.
  • Caregivers.
  • Parents of kids with PH.
  • Young adults with PH ages 18-39.
  • CTEPH patients and family members.
  • Bereaved community members.
  • Pacientes con HP de habla hispana (Spanish-speaking patients).
All nationwide meetings now take place through Zoom calls. Participants receive call-in numbers after registering.PHA’s transition from telephone to online support groups allows us to provide national support for those with shared experiences, no matter where they live. The online meetings also expand support services for people who don’t have access to in-person groups or who want to attend meetings outside of their home communities.“Upgrading from telephone to online support groups provides more options for PH community members who want to connect and share with their peers,” says Sara Tyghter, PHA’s director advocacy and patient engagement.PHA’s peer support programs also include regional in-person support groups, Email PHriends and PHA’s toll-free patient support line.
