More people than ever are struggling to afford health care costs this year, especially those with marketplace insurance plans. Enhanced premium tax credits for those plans expired in 2025, so original credits established by the Affordable Care Act in 2010 are now in place.

Ten states provide additional premium assistance funds to eligible residents. 

If you need help paying for your prescription co-pays, premiums or other costs, consider contacting an assistance fund from a charitable organization.
