Five years ago, the World Health Organization declared a new, rapidly spreading respiratory virus to be a pandemic. Throughout the world, policy makers and ordinary people tried to prevent further spread of COVID-19 and protect themselves. Schools and businesses closed. Hospitals became overrun with critically ill patients. People donned home-sewn masks and stood six feet apart in public.
While physically distancing themselves, the pulmonary hypertension community came together in mind and spirit. They shared tips to make masks, tie-dye masks, donate masks. They recounted ideas for coping, vacation and masking up with oxygen.
