PHA 2024 International PH Conference and Scientific Sessions attendees will have a new experience at this year’s conference, Aug. 15-18, in Indianapolis.
On Sunday, Aug. 18, the final day of PHA 2024, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association will host a community project to unite attendees and host city Indianapolis. The event will bring together patients, caregivers and health care professionals to build stuffed animals. Attendees of all ages can participate, although young children might need assistance.
All stuffed bears will have custom t-shirts designed by participants. Attendees can include cards containing messages of encouragement and hope. After building the stuffed bears, participants can add cellophane and bows at the wrapping station.
After the service event, the stuffed animals will be delivered to various nonprofit organizations, including Riley’s Children Health. Riley Children’s Health at IU Health boasts a nationally ranked pediatric heart program and is a top-ranked children’s hospital.
This is the first time PHA has offered a service project for conference attendees to give back to the host community.
PHA 2024 is a safe and family-friendly event that brings together people with PH, families, caregivers, researchers and PH-treating health care professionals. This year’s theme is “Stronger Together.” It reflects the resilient spirit of unity within the PH community to overcome challenges and advance PH care. Learn more and register.
