In the first segment, which aired July 22, the ATS Breathe Easy podcast featured guests Susan Jacobs, a nurse and research manager at Stanford University and PHA’s Jaeger Spratt. Jacobs chairs the multi-organizational Oxygen Special Interest Group that worked to introduce the Supplemental Oxygen Access Reform Act. Spratt, PHA’s advocacy and treatment access program manager, discussed the status of the SOAR Act in Congress and provisions in the legislation to establish a Bill of Rights for oxygen users and Medicare coverage for respiratory therapy.
In the second segment, which aired July 23, Spratt hosted PHA’s PH Insights podcast. Their guests were long-time PHA advocates Amy Burant and Colleen Connor. The guests discussed how access to supplemental oxygen has shaped their PH journeys and the freedom that comes with using the appropriate type of oxygen equipment for their needs.
