Thinking of attending PHA 2024? Consider turning your trip into a family vacation. All children are welcome to join the fun in Indianapolis Aug. 15-18, whether they have PH or are children of a patient, caregiver or health care provider.
PHA 2024 International PH Conference and Scientific Sessions includes activities for children and teens in our Kids Room. Activities in the Kids Room are primarily recreational, but some focus on developing resilience and improving understanding of pulmonary hypertension.
This year, our Kids Room attendees can visit the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, the largest children’s museum in the world, during our scheduled field trip. Complimentary transportation to and from the hotel will be provided.
The family fun continues with a new community-engagement project on Sunday, Aug. 18. Children, teens and family members will join others in the PH community to build a stuffed animal for children in need. All stuffed animals will have custom t-shirts designed by participants, along with cards of encouragement and hope. After building the stuffed animal, participants can move to a wrapping station to add cellophane and bows. The bears will be delivered to Riley’s Hospital for Children and other nonprofit organizations in Indianapolis.
Children and teens also can attend or participate in the Fashion Show, a popular feature of PHA conferences since 2002. Adults with PH also can participate in the show on Saturday, Aug. 17, directly after the Outstanding Member Awards Dinner. Walk the runway and transform oxygen cannulas, mobility devices and medication pumps into symbols of strength and hope. Leave your mark at this year’s show. Register.
Don’t miss out. Register your child or teen for the Kids Room when you sign up for PHA 2024.
