A new Pulmonary Hypertension Association fundraising event is coming to South Carolina.The May 4 event in Anderson, South Carolina, is among several PHA O2breathe fundraising events this spring.The AnMed Walk for Your Health will be in memory of Tina Lisenby, AnMed’s first PHA support group leader, who passed away in February 2023.“Tina was wonderful, and many of us are inspired by her memory to raise funds to help PH patients,” says Kelly Dickson, pulmonary hypertension navigator at AnMed.Other events on tap include the long-running SoCal O2breathe Walk. Scheduled for April 13 in Long Beach, California, this year’s event will have an ’80s theme, says PHA board member Monica Penaranda.“We encourage teams to bring a picnic, participate in our incredible raffle and enjoy the day with the southern California PH community,” Penaranda says.PHA also is coming to Houston April 6-7 for a weekend of events in support of the PH community. The Houston-area PH community is invited to join the PHA Connects: PH Community Workshop on Saturday, April 6 and the second annual Houston O2breathe Walk Sunday, April 7.Learn more about PHA O2breathe walks planned throughout 2024.
