Six volunteers describe how they make a difference through support groups, fundraising, advocacy and more in “Strengthening PHA’s Mission.”Our cover story, “Satisfaction in Public Service,” recounts how PH upended her education but transformed her career path for the better. Eccher, of Lincoln, Nebraska, shares her passion for fitness and how she lives the life she wants. In “Passion for Patient Care,” volunteer Kelly Dickson relates how she goes beyond her daily work as a health care professional. In addition to navigating patients’ financial and treatment challenges, Dickson leads a support group and organizes a PHA fundraiser.Volunteer Amy Burant shares her story in “Ensuring Government Serves the People.” Burant, of Denver, Colorado, advocates for herself and other people with lung diseases.
