PHA’s Statement on National Budget Bill

The Pulmonary Hypertension Association is concerned about the impact of the recently passed legislation, HB 1, on our PH community. PHA remains committed to advocating on a nonpartisan basis for the health and wellbeing of individuals living with pulmonary hypertension and their caregivers. We fight for health care policy that:

  • Prohibits discrimination against individuals with costly health conditions.
  • Ensures medical care is driven by research and clinical judgment as determined by patient-clinician shared decisions.
  • Expands access to health insurance coverage that is accessible, affordable and adequate.
  • Reduces barriers to medical care, including out-of-pocket cost, for individuals with complex and/or costly health conditions.
As clear, factual details about the implementation of HB 1 become available, PHA will inform the PH community about what to expect and continue to advocate for uninterrupted access to therapy for PH patients.
