PHA’s PH Wellness Expo in San Francisco will feature several presentations in addition to demonstrations, a support group and exhibits. Set for Saturday, Oct. 10, the wellness expo is the Pulmonary Hypertension Association’s newest free educational event.
“We’ve come so far in understanding and managing PH, and I want attendees to leave with a sense of optimism about the future,” says Sara Bravo of University of California San Francisco Health, who chairs the event with Robert Bernardo of Stanford University. “Most importantly, I want to convey a message of hope. There’s a growing community of researchers, healthcare professionals, and advocates working tirelessly to improve outcomes for those with PH.”
Presentation topics
The state of PH treatments. Bravo, Bernardo and Marc Simon of UCSF Health will discuss available pulmonary hypertension therapies, how treatment approaches are evolving and future treatment options. Rita Orth, a nurse with PH, will share her experience and perspective on PH treatment and care.
PH risk assessment for adult and pediatric patients. Namita Sood of University of California Davis and Rachel Hopper of Stanford University will address how healthcare profressionals determine the best treatment approach for people with PH. Learn how PH care teams evaluate disease status, monitor progress and select appropriate therapies options.
Advocating for a brighter future. Hear from PHA’s Jaeger Spratt learn about health policy changes PHA is advocating for and how you can make a difference. Learn about PHA advocacy “wins” in 2026, how PHA works with the PH community to make life better for people with PH and their loved ones.
