The Nov. 1 event is cosponsored by the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, Duke Health and the University of North Carolina School. The symposium, designed for area pulmonologists, cardiologists, nurses, pharmacists and other allied health care professionals, has featured a Patient Day for 16 years. The event takes place at the Durham Convention Center.
Patient Day begins at noon for people with pulmonary hypertension and caregivers. Speakers include H. James Ford, director, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s pulmonary hypertension program, and Terry Fortin, co-director, Duke University Medical Center’s Pulmonary Vascular Disease Center. Duke and UNC are PHA-accredited PH Care Centers.
