Traci StewartIn addition to being a PHA Board of Trustees member and former PHPN Chair, Traci Stewart, RN, MSN, CHFN has been a Pulmonary Hypertension Nurse Coordinator at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for over 20 years and has helped facilitate the local Iowa PH support group for the last 13 years.

Recently, when a support group reached out to PHA for help, Traci agreed to facilitate and speak at upcoming meetings in order to ensure the continued success of the group. She gave up several Saturdays and traveled from Iowa City, Iowa to Omaha, Nebraska at her own expense to help.

Traci says that she loves helping patients and family members support each other, as well as providing education and discussing treatment options, as they cope with PH. “It’s a way to give back to the PH community,” she explains.

A heart-felt thank you, Traci!

Robin HohsfieldRobin Hohsfield, RN has been a clinical nurse coordinator in the University of Colorado Hospital’s Pulmonary Hypertension Center since 2005. She started helping out with regional support groups in 2007, traveling up to seven hours by car when asked to speak.

She is currently a representative with the Gilead Speaker’s Bureau, traveling as far as Minnesota and New Mexico to speak at support groups.

Why does Robin do what she does? She says that she loves the interactive sessions with the patients that need the extra support outside the clinic. “There just isn’t enough time during clinic to give them what they need and it means a lot to the patients to see you (the PH staff) out in the community.”

Thank you, Robin!
