About Elizabeth

Elizabeth’s journey with chronic illness began in 2010, when she was diagnosed with lupus. She was 15. Later, her diagnosis changed to mixed connective tissue disease. In 2025, she was diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension. Elizabeth was born with one kidney, a smaller than usual uterus and one fallopian tube. She balances life with her conditions while raising two young children in a military family.

Elizabeth is the founder of a nonprofit that connects caregivers with resources. She became a PHA Peer Mentor to support others might feel similar uncertainty that she felt after diagnosis. She hopes to provide encouragement, understanding and connection, especially for parents. She reminds others that they don’t have to walk their journeys alone, even when they feel isolated.
