Availability is limited for some medical supplies used with pulmonary hypertension (PH) therapies because of pandemic-related supply-chain disruptions. The Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) working on behalf of the PH community to ensure uninterrupted therapy access.
Since the beginning of the year, supply-chain disruptions have affected sterile water, saline, tubing and cassettes. Manufacturers are prioritizing distribution for people with no viable alternatives.
PHA contacted a prominent medical supply company and advocated for full allocation for the PH community because of the critical nature of PH.
Specialty pharmacies and health care professionals also are working to minimize therapy interruption. However, some people with PH might receive smaller than usual medication shipments, or shipments with alternate supplies. Direct your questions about safely using alternate supplies to your specialty pharmacy.
