The 6th World Symposium on Pulmonary Hypertension will take place in Nice, France from Feb. 27 to March 1, 2018. This symposium, held every 5 years, is a time for global leaders in PH to review the major advances in the disease, analyze the evidence in studying and treating PH, and evaluate gaps of evidence and propose future research priorities. More than 1,200 international physicians attended the last event in 2013. This venue provides a perfect opportunity to introduce a newly redesigned and updated educational resource for patients, Understanding PH.

The booklet provides an introduction and overview of the PH, empowering patients to discuss their disease and treatment with a PH specialist through organized sections that explain PH symptoms, types of PH, testing, diagnosing and treatments. This medically-reviewed publication is 28 pages with a glossary of terms, a short list of questions for patients to ask, and a foldout section with a flow chart outlining the diagnostic process from the suspicion of PH through detection and group and type identification.

The resource is available in PHA’s online store to non-members for $10, and at an individual PHA member and bulk discount rate.

If you are attending the 6th World Symposium on Pulmonary Hypertension, PHA invites you to preview this new resource at the PHA booth.
