Join the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) Friday, Jan. 29 for Facebook Live discussions on COVID-19 vaccines in English and Spanish.

Our new PHA Live series launches at noon next Friday with a Spanish-language Q&A with Fernando Torres, M.D. Dr. Torres, medical director of lung transplantation and head of the pulmonary (PH) program at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, will provide insight on the safety and efficacy of currently available vaccines.

An English language Q&A with Victor Tapson, M.D., FCCP, FRCP, will follow at 1 p.m. Both discussions will focus on information for the PH community as vaccination rollouts begin throughout the United States.

PHA Live features monthly programs on health, wellness, science and research topics for those affected by PH. The program can be viewed on Facebook and the PHA website.

About the speakers

Dr. Torres is a professor of medicine, clinician and researcher University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and director of the lung transplant and PH programs at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital. He has presented at many PHA events and provides expertise for PHA education videos on transplantation in English and Spanish.

Dr. Tapson, a pulmonary vascular disease specialist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, has focused on PH research and patient care throughout his career. He has presented at PHA events, including PHPN Symposium 2019.
