The Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) On The Road Education Forum comes to San Francisco, Calif., on Aug. 10 at The Westin San Francisco Airport.
PHA on the Road is a way to bring awareness about PH directly to the area community through interactive sessions presented by local medical experts that help attendees learn more about the condition, manage the unique day-to-day challenges those with PH face, and navigate issues such as health insurance coverage. The free event includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, child care and parking at The Westin San Francisco Airport.
The local connection provides an important level of contact for attendees at the forum, as many are just learning about the disease.
Sachin Gupta, M.D., FCCP, CPMC-Sutter Health System, San Francisco, says PHA on the Road offers benefits for both attendees and the professionals who provide the sessions.
“PH is a difficult, challenging disease. As a PH-treating physician, I have seen firsthand how difficult this condition can be to understand and navigate for my patients,” he explains. “The best way to empower our patients and their families is through education. PHA’s On the Road provides the perfect forum for medical experts to educate those with the condition and their loved ones about what they need to know to live their best life with PH. It also gives PH-treating professionals a chance to connect personally with the SF/Bay Area PH community.”
