American Heart Month is ending, but the fight to elevate heart health consciousness continues. Throughout February the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) has been using social media to spread the word about the link between pulmonary hypertension (PH) and heart failure and making heart-healthy choices. PHA followers are using #OurHearts and #PHAssociation on social media in February to share actions they, their friends, family and coworkers are taking to get heart healthy together.
Posts on Facebook tagged with #OurHearts and #PHAssociation have garnered more than 18,000 impressions — or times displayed — reaching more than 13,000 people. The top post was shared 81 times, generated 57 reactions (e.g., “likes”) and 561 engagements, reaching more than 7,000 people. Twitter saw similar success with posts creating more than 4,000 impressions; the top post realized 1,194 of impressions, four retweets and 13 likes. The graphics posted on Instagram were a favorite amongst PHA’s audience. The two photos garnered 165 likes, eight comments and nearly 3,000 impressions, with a reach of 1.7 thousand. The top Instagram post had 165 likes, 1.3 thousand impressions and a reach of 906 people.
