PHA on the Road is a free day-long regional education program for people living with pulmonary hypertension.
On the heels of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA)’s 2016 International Pulmonary Hypertension Conference and Scientific Sessions, the largest-ever gathering of the pulmonary hypertension (PH) community of patients, caregivers, researchers, care providers and medical professionals, PHA is announcing two dates for PHA on the Road: PH Patients and Families Education Forum. This day-long event provides opportunities for those who missed the international conference to learn about PH and network with the PH community of patients, supporters and professionals.
WHAT: PHA on the Road is a free, day-long regional education program that provides information on the diagnosis and treatment of PH to patients and family members in a face-to-face setting. PHA on the Road programs include interactive presentations, educational sessions and networking opportunities for patients, caregivers and PH medical experts in the region.
WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, October 1, 2016 in Washington, D.C., at the Grand Hyatt Washington and Saturday, November 19, 2016 in Tampa, Fla., at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina.
WHY: PH is increased pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs that can lead to death from right heart failure. As a rare, chronic disease association, PHA seeks to bring those living with PH out of isolation and connect them with information that can help them adjust to life with PH and have the best quality of life possible.
