“What gives me hope is that I have the opportunity to share my story.”

By Jai Bradford

“What gives me hope is that I have the opportunity to share my story. Being a child and a teenager with pulmonary hypertension (PH) was a rare and tough time. I didn’t want to talk about PH with anyone because I thought no one would understand the difficulties with being short of breath all the time. After my transplant (heart and lungs) at age 17, I felt that I needed to share my story. Maybe it would give hope to the other PH patients out there. I want to show that even though PH is in my past, it is still much love toward the PH community. I have a purple band tattooed on my arm to always remember what PH is to me: a reminder that even in the toughest of circumstances, hope endures.”
