PHA Centers of Comprehensive Care

History

The Mayo PH Program was founded in 1996 by Dr. Michael McGoon. The comprehensive care team includes dedicated clinical care and research coordinators and nurses, physicians with expertise in PH, heart failure, pulmonary disease, transplantation, echocardiography, and invasive assessment of hemodynamics. Dr. Frantz joined the PH program in 1997 and has been Director since 2007. He is an internationally recognized expert in pulmonary hypertension, with special interest in the evaluation and understanding of unexplained dyspnea including invasive hemodynamic evaluation, participation in state of the art studies of pulmonary hypertension therapies

Dr. Frantz is Mayo Clinic’s principal investigator in the NIH funded Pulmonary Vascular Disease Omics (PVDOMICS) consortium.
