PHA Centers of Comprehensive Care

History

In 2005, Dr. Terence Trow was recruited to direct and develop the Yale Pulmonary Vascular Disease Center (YPVDP) within the Pulmonary and Critical care section of the Yale School of Medicine. Since 2005, the program has developed an active clinical program through the Winchester Chest Clinic and the New Haven Hospital. The program has been building a program of industry sponsored clinical research, along with investigator sponsored clinical and basic science projects. In 2016, Dr. Wassim Fares stepped in as Director of the program with Dr. Inderjit Singh taking over as Director in 2018.

The Yale New Haven Hospital is a 1,500 bed, for both academic and medical purposes. There are 4 other affiliated hospitals in the area, but PH patients are only admitted into the New Haven Hospital. Patients are admitted to the hospitalist service with Pulmonary as a consulting service and staffed with a fellow and attending.
