Ronald J. Oudiz, M.D., and Traci Stewart, R.N., discuss the importance of in-person medical care to manage your pulmonary hypertension (PH). They address concerns around COVID-19 exposure and provide safety information and guidelines to help patients feel comfortable and confident when visiting their treatment centers. About the Speakers
Ronald J. Oudiz, M.D.
Ronald J. Oudiz, M.D., is professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, director of the Liu Center for Pulmonary Hypertension and clinical director of the Wasserman Cardiopulmonary Exercise Laboratory at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. He is also immediate past chair of PHA’s Scientific Leadership Council and on the Board of Trustees. He was the medical editor of Pulmonary Hypertension: A Patient’s Survival Guide and shares in the pride of contributing to this work. In 2011, PHA awarded him with the Physician of the Year Award; he also received the 2015 Legacy Award from PHA for his contributions to the PH field.

Traci Stewart, R.N.
Traci Stewart, R.N., has over twenty years of clinical expertise in management of PH and heart failure patients as a nurse clinician specialist in the Advanced Heart and Lung program at the University of Iowa. She facilitates a regional PH support group and organizes and presents education on PH and heart failure disease management to patients and health care providers in the community. She is a past chair of the Pulmonary Hypertension Professional Network (PHPN) and serves on the PHA board of trustees.
