Urge your lawmakers to preserve important safety nets for people with PH, as well as research funding. Congress is considering billions of dollars in cuts to Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program and the National Institutes of Health.

Medicaid and CHIP provide health insurance coverage to nearly 80 million people. Nearly half are children from low-income homes. Older and disabled people, including many vulnerable people living with PH, also rely on the programs to secure life-saving treatments.

Many people with PH could lose access to their medication if policymakers cut Medicaid benefits or further restrict eligibility. Others could lose benefits because of burdensome paperwork requirements.

Use the Pulmonary Hypertension Association’s pre-written template to instantly send a message to your legislators. Tell Congress: No cuts to Medicaid.

Research funding

White House orders to cut federal funding for the National Institutes of Health have disrupted existing research and affects scientists and health care professionals who study PH. Research on nearly every existing PH therapy began with NIH-funded work.

Tell Congress to stand up for NIH so researchers can discover new, improved PH therapies.
