More than 12,500 volunteers throughout the country helped organize 49 events to raise funds that support the mission of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA). Nearly half of these events were part of PHA’s national O2 breatheTM program, our signature fundraising events. The O2 breatheTM program is supported through the generosity of our national sponsors: Actelion Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Gilead Sciences, Inc., Bayer, United Therapeutics Corporation and CVS Specialty.

The amazing outpouring of support from local sponsors, participants, volunteers and the entire PH community helps save lives. The variety of events included walk/runs, trivia nights, community festivals, golf outings, motorcycle/vehicle rides, a pub day and a wine tasting. Proceeds from these events provide critical financial support to PHA and awareness for the PH community.

Many of our events allow registrants to participate on a team and fundraise to earn incentives and recognition. PHA recognizes our top fundraising teams for 2018 (to date):

  • Team Temple Health with 21 fundraising walkers, Philadelphia O2breathe Walk (Philadelphia), $16,471
  • Team Scissors for Sage with 14 fundraising walkers, Stride for a Cure (Elk Grove Village, Ill.), $15,748
  • Team Emma with 66 fundraising walkers/runners, Zebra PHest 5K and PHun Walk (Coppell, Texas), $12,230
  • Team Ernesto’s Cann-Do PHighters with 29 fundraising walkers, Boston O2breathe Walk (Boston), $11,225
  • Team JOE (Jennie, Owen and Eric) with 105 fundraising walkers/runners, PH in the Park (Denver), $8,765
