With some Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) support groups shifting from virtual to hybrid or in-person meetings, support group members have come up with creative ways to reconnect. Learn what three support groups are doing to build connections:

PH in the Park

On Sept. 13, members of the Twin Cities PHA Support Group in Minneapolis-Saint Paul met for their annual PH Picnic in the Park at Battle Creek Regional Park. It was the first time for many to connect in person after virtual and hybrid meetings.

Building coping skills

Members of the Greater Los Angeles PHA Support Group met Aug. 20 at a local restaurant to learn to manage anxiety, including breathing and meditation techniques. Members created empowerment journals, customized with affirmation stickers.

Meet and greet

After two and a half years of virtual meetings, the Greater Chicago South Side PHA support group met in person for the first time on Aug. 20. Sponsored by Bayer Healthcare, the group discussed the basics of pulmonary hypertension and held a “meet and greet.”
