PHA’s Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Month Fundraiser

Help raise money for PHA during the month of November in four easy steps:

  • Either register or login if you have already created an account for another PHA event.

  • Once you have registered or logged in, set a personal fundraising goal and make a self donation to kick-off your plan.

  • Share your fundraising page with your community through email and social media to encourage them to donate and maximize your impact.

Here is a sample outreach schedule to work your way to raise $500 in a week. Imagine what you can do over the entire month of November! Start today by registering (there is no cost to register).

Raise $500 in a a Week!
DAY 1: Make your own $20 contribution $20
DAY 2: Ask four neighbors for $15 each $60
DAY 3: Ask your boss to contribute $50 $50
DAY 4: Ask three co-workers for $15 each $45
DAY 5: Ask two businesses for $100 each $200
DAY 6: Ask three family members for $25 each $75
DAY 7: Ask two people at your place of worship for $25 each $50

Social media is a great way to promote awareness and encourage donations! This is a sample social media post you can include with the link to your fundraising site:

November is Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Month! Join me in supporting The Pulmonary Hypertension Association. All gifts help provide hope to patients and their caregivers! To donate please visit: (PERSONAL URL FROM FUNDRAISING SITE)

Non-online Gifts can count towards your goal!

If you collect cash or checks from friends that still counts toward your fundraising total. PHA strongly suggests not mailing cash; you may send a personal check, cashier’s check or money order made out to Pulmonary Hypertension Association for the cash collected. Mail all checks to:

Pulmonary Hypertension Association
Attn: Awareness Fundraising
801 Roeder Rd. Suite 1000
Silver Spring, MD 20910

Be sure to include your name so that PHA can add the amount included to your page.

What else can I do to raise funds besides asking friends and family to donate?

Many people use their networks to help their fundraising efforts; examples include:

  • If you are a sales vendor, consider donating a portion of your sales from November to your fundraising effort.
  • If you have a place of employment, consider asking to have a “jeans day” where colleagues pay a donation to wear jeans to work on a certain day (be sure to check with your supervisor and/or your human resources department about regulations and options).
  • Have a yard sale (or online yard sale) and donate the money you make. Be sure to include that all profits go to PHA in your advertisements/posts. You might get extra donations!

I am having difficulty creating my page and/or I am struggling with my fundraising. What should I do?
