How do I set up a fundraiser on CrowdRise?

STEP 1: SET UP YOUR CROWDRISE PROFILE
Your CrowdRise Profile is the home for all of your fundraising activities! You’ll be able to see all of your completed and active fundraising campaigns, the total you’ve raised for all your causes as well as the amount of CrowdRise Impact Points you’ve earned. To sign up, all you have to do is Go Here. If you already have a CrowdRise Profile, you can go ahead and skip this step.

STEP 2: CREATE A FUNDRAISER
To set up your own personal CrowdRise fundraiser, just Go Here and complete the listed steps to start fundraising for patient Conference scholarships! First, you must click on “Set-Up Your Fundraiser.” You will then be giving the opportunity to personalize your fundraising page with a compelling video, story and pics. Remember: All slideshow pictures must be 375 x 275 pixels.

STEP 3: SHARE YOUR FUNDRAISER
Email a link to your fundraising page to everyone you know. Email still works the best  for online fundraising and you’ll want to make sure you email each supporter individually or in small groups so they don’t feel anonymous. Post about your fundraiser on your social networks as well as direct message from those platforms. Ask everyone you know to donate to your cause!

Here are some tips to help you get started!

Tip #1: Make sure your fundraising page is so compelling that your supporters feel like they can’t leave without donating. Get personal with your story, explain why you’re fundraising, what will their money do for your cause, etc. Add lots of pics and videos. The more well-rounded your page, the better your fundraiser will perform.

Tip #2: Make the first donation. After your fundraising page is all set up, make the first donation. Make sure it’s an amount that you think your supporters will respond to. It sets the tone for your fundraiser and people like seeing that you’re supporting your cause as well.

Tip #3: Set a fundraising goal. Supporters like to help you work towards something and, it gives you something to message about during the course of your campaign. Sending out an email when you’re at 50% of your goal is super motivating and allows everyone to see how their donations are impacting your cause.

Tip #4: When you get a donation, you’ll get a donation alert. Make sure to use our Thank You tool to immediately thank your supporters. If they feel like their donation is appreciated, they will be more likely to give again. And again.

Tip #5: Reach out more than once. Email and use social networks to ask supporters to give again and again. Keep them posted on your goals, where their money is going, how it’s helping and what it means to you personally. Be relentless. It’s for a good cause.

Do you have offline donations?

For those who are planning on donating by check, they can write it out to PHA and give it to a PHA staff member directly on the morning of event. Within CrowdRise, the organizer of your team will be able to enter in offline donations by doing the following:

Go to your team’s fundraising page (make sure you are logged into CrowdRise) and click on the “Manage Team” tab. Click on the “Toolkit” drop down menu. Within this menu, you have the option to send messages to your team members, enter in offline donations (OFFLINE DONATION MANAGER), set fundraising minimums, pull reports and invite others to join your team. Again, the individual who created the team will be the only one with access to this tab!
