Amy Chybowski and Tracy Vaughan, leaders of the PHA Madison/Janesville, Wisc., area support group, recently hosted a special cooking event. Led by University of Wisconsin Health culinary and registered dietitian staff, the group prepared a low sodium, heart-healthy meal in the Learning Kitchen in The American Center at UW Health. Participants learned how to make tasty food without adding salt and basic culinary techniques. But most importantly it was a fun, casual way to learn more about each other.

Following the team meal preparations, the group sat together for a family-style lunch and conversation. The event was an enjoyable way for the PH “phamily” to spice up their routine meetings. The cooking event will now be an annual tradition.
