The Greater Washington, D.C., O2breathe Walk held on May 13 at Oronocco Park in Arlington, VA raised almost twice the amount from the previous year. The event, formerly known as the Northern Virginia O2breathe Walk, raised $12,763 to support the fight against pulmonary hypertension (PH).

People with PH, family, friends, health care providers and PHA staff from the D.C. area congregated at Oronoco Park in Virginia to participate in the walk. PHA volunteer and performer Stephen Carter-Hicks kicked off the event.

The top team, Inova PHast and PHurious, raised $6,196. The Mid-Atlantic PHoo PHighters came in second for team fundraising, followed by Team PHA Staff. The top individual fundraiser was Linh Benthall, who raised $1,150. Elizabeth Joseloff, PHA’s vice president of research, followed closely behind. Eugenie Lewis was the third-highest individual fundraiser.

O2breathe walks are among the many ways the PH community raises money to support the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. The proceeds support our mission to extend and improve the lives of those affected by PH.
