35th Anniversary Campaign
PHA's fundraising campaigns focus on different themes each quarter. The summer 2026 campaign focuses on our 35th anniversary.
Three and a half decades in, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association believes no one should face PH alone.
Since PHA’s beginnings, we have focused on uplifting patients, educating health care professionals who care for them, and investing time and resources to better understand the condition and find a cure.
In 1991, a small group of people gathered with a simple but novel conviction: that people with pulmonary hypertension deserved better. They deserved better understanding and awareness of their condition, better care and better outcomes. They had no blueprint, little money and no guarantee of success. What they had was commitment and determination.
Founders Judy and Ed Simpson, Pat and Jerry Paton, Dorothy and Harry Olson, Teresa and Bob Knazik, and other early pioneers proved that patients and families working alongside committed physicians and researchers could create fundamental change.
Because of what they created, what we’ve built since then and what you help sustain, people living with PH don’t have to face their condition alone. They can:
- Call our Patient and Caregiver Support Line
- Find an accredited PH Care Center
- Connect with the PH community
- Advocate on Capitol Hill
- Benefit from research advancements that didn’t exist a decade ago.
This summer, in honor of PHA’s 35th anniversary, we invite you to make a gift that pays tribute to someone in your life who has made this journey possible.
