Accreditation is a voluntary process. All PHA-accredited centers meet criteria developed by leading PH experts and undergo peer evaluation to ensure they are providing high-quality care. Accreditation confirms that a center can accurately diagnose and treat PH, improve access to trusted care and increase awareness among patients and health care professionals.
Accredited centers help people with PH by:
- Providing easier access to comprehensive PH care.
- Helping people get diagnosed earlier, improving long-term health outcomes.
- Ensuring treatments and medications are appropriately used to improve quality of life.
- Giving people with PH clear, reliable information about their condition and care options.
- Supporting a medical community that’s well-informed about PH standards of care.
- Offering more opportunities for patients to participate in PH research.

The PHA Registry helps advance knowledge
Accredited PHCCs can enroll PH patients into the Pulmonary Hypertension Association Registry or PHAR. This patient registry is an organized system that collects data to help researchers understand health outcomes and improve care for people with PH. Registries like PHAR are especially valuable for studying rare diseases such as PH.
